Regional Mass Casualty Support Units (RMCSU) The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) has awarded Region 1 two (2) mass casualty incident trailers, complete with MCI associated equipment, utilizing funds from the federal granting authority HRSA for their purchase. These trailers are a regional as well as State asset available for services to utilize for large scale incidents. The Mass Casualty Support Units in Region 1 are strategically located in Amherst and Dalton and are used as a support system for Mass Casualty Incidents within Massachusetts EMS Region 1 and Massachusetts. They offer CMED communications and medical supplies for major disasters twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. *To activate the RMCSU located in Amherst, please contact Amherst Fire Department at (413) 259–3080. *To activate the RMCSU located in Dalton, please contact County Ambulance at (413) 499–2528.
